Tabibito is a he, a she, an it. It's a traveler. A curious creature unraveling the mysteries of the world.
A nine tailed fox. A wolf. An it.
The word itself, (comprised of "journey" and "person" 旅人), means traveler in Japanese, but if you visit Colombia, it will probably have an accent that changes it into meaning 'being alive'. And most understand it as such. Which is great!
Tabibito is born from an ethical fashion ideal wrapped around the desire to see the the world and tell it as we experience it. To know the stories behind the path each of us follows as we pursue our dreams, because we believe people are worth their journey. They're worth their hard work, stories and experience. Their culture and knowledge.
Who are we? We're a Colombian brand based in Bogotá, devoted to fashion, stories and textile design.
HANDMADE IN COLOMBIA
Tabibito is born from an ethical fashion ideal. As such, and proud Colombians, we believe in helping out WITHIN. This means we work with local artisans and entrepreneurs.
This also means each and every single one of our products is unique. Price varies not only on the design and materials, but also on what the artisans charge for their work.
They're not our employees, they're colombian talented craftsmen that we have the honour to work with.
So the thing is, we don't just want to make a thousand bags and sell them all over the globe. We want to make special bags that only a few of you get to have.
That's why we don't make more than 5 of the same product with the same textile design. Instead, we're constantly design new products and textiles to mix and match.
So, make sure you're always checking out our site and Facebook page, or subscribe to our newsletter to know what we're up to!
Because we believe people are worth their joureys, hard work and knowledge, more than anything else, our brand's main purpose is to tell stories.
Which kind? The kind that makes you travel through life's harsh waters or make you see the wonders of the world with a backpack on your back. The ones that happen when you run 10k in the morning and build a career in the afternoon or when you devote your heart and soul to become a dancing star for a ballet company.
Everyone has a story to tell.
Wanna tell us yours?
